Borland Software Corporation was founded in 1983 by Niels Jensen, Ole Henriksen, Mogens Glad and Philippe Kahn. Its main business was the development and sale of software development and software deployment products. Borland was first headquartered in Scotts Valley, California, then in Cupertino, California and then in Austin, Texas. In 2009 the company became a full subsidiary of the British firm Micro Focus International plc.

A former account manager mentioned, "Like, for real... don't work at Micro Focus International. Don't do it. The pay scales changed at the whim of the organization, there are quite a few VP level managers that you can't quite put together what there jobs are, and they recruit new people before solidifying jobs for them or the current staff. Just don't do it."

Software Consultant (Former Employee) says

"The company does not exist anymore. The products are sold to MicroFocus a UK based company. Don't know what happened to tools like JBuilder. There could be a market for those C++ compilers."

Regional Contracts Manager (Former Employee) says

"Fast-paced software company. A large amount of activity occurs at quarter and year-end periods."

Program Manager (Former Employee) says

"I worked for Borland after the company I worked for in MA was acquired. Borland was headquartered in CA and many of the MA were retained for only the transition period."
